Man is always inventing new things and in the process man will also improve on what he already has. Man also creates new twists to the already existing innovations so as to produce variety. In the business world, where competition is high, man will come up with unique packaging that will compete better and make them have more sales. This is especially seen when one goes to the store and observes the different kind of packaging boxes used for the almost similar products. Products are now being packaged in some very innovative packaging that will woo customers to buy more of the product. Some of the new packaging is even a bit strange!

One of the famous weird packaging is the detergent that is housed in dumbbells. This is an innovation by Tommaso Ceschi for the Mr. Clean detergent. This woos the buyer to get the detergent that will help them workout as they clean. Another funny and creative innovation is the anti-theft lunch bag. This is usually used to pack sandwiches, cakes, and other foodstuffs made from flour. The bag contains a transparent plastic bag that has some markings which make the sandwich or cake inside appear like it is going bad and has mould thereby discouraging any thief who would not be any wiser.

The tequila gun packaging is another fun invention. This tequila gun is identical to a normal .45 pistol only that it is transparent and instead of bullets it is loaded with a shot of 200ml of genuine Mexican tequila. It can create a great twist when used to serve at a bar. Nike is also not left behind with some clever packaging. They once transformed their shoe boxes to house a stadium by printing the insides of the shoe box to look like a stadium. Sound chips were then inserted inside the shoe box such that when the lid is opened, one can hear the sounds of a cheering, crowded stadium.

Another weird invention of packaging is the banana guard. This is packaging that allows one to pack in a banana especially during a trip or for packed lunch. The packaging prevents the banana from getting mashed. Another cool invention is the chocolate pills packaging where the chocolate is packed like the medicinal pills where one can easily pop off a chocolate pill whenever the craving strikes! Another cool packaging box design is one that was invented by Julien De Repentigny and Gabriel Lefebvre who made milk packaging that consisted of a box made out to spell MILK!

Packaging design can be really boring at times but as long as you know where to look you can find some really great examples of beautiful, hilarious or interesting design.  Here are some packaging designs that are sure to make you smile.

This flour packaging not only has faces drawn on it but also has the comedy element of stereotyping types of flour. The french pastry flour appears to be wearing a beret while the donut flour is wearing a police hat (as police men are renowned for eating donuts in popular culture).
This cool milk and chocolate milk packaging is sure to appeal to kids.  The googly eyes instantly have connotations of children's toys and the soft looking shape also has a happy feel about it, suggesting it is aimed at younger children to encourage them to drink some milk.

When you think about all the things you have in your kitchen, there is a huge amount of packaging, food, drinks, treats, cooking stuff, the list is endless. One of the more interesting example of packaging in the household kitchen is a spice rack. Here are a couple of examples that have really caught my attention.

Test tubes are the kind of object that you really don't see everyday, complete with cork stoppers and a wire rack they are sure to make you feel like a mad scientist in the kitchen. They remind us of interesting movie and television characters that worked in labs and solved crimes, but also of crazy scientists like Victor Frankenstein who created a monster. These can be both good and bad things when it comes to the kitchen but the idea is that the packaging gets our imagination going and gives us a little bit of a talking point in our kitchens.
The above spice rack appears to be an advent calendar however it also looks very much like an apothecary drugs or herbal remedies cabinet. Again this packaging gives a feeling of mysteriousness which can add to the allure of a kitchen tool. The little glass jars also raise the quality of the packaging and make it feel far more substantial.

History shows that man is a very enterprising creature in all his dealings. Being a social creature too, he will do his utmost to reach other people near and far to accomplish his desires. In his interactions with his fellow beings, man is frequently involved in the sending and receiving of physical items. Through time, we see that man has evolved in the way he has handled the transfer of a variety of items. Most importantly, we see that man has come up with better, safer, and more convenient ways to package items for transfer. One of the major breakthroughs in this evolvement is the introduction of plastic mailing bags. The plastic mailing bag has proved to be a preferred method of packaging and its significance as a packaging option does not seem likely to abate in the near future.

Plastic mailing bags have huge advantages compared to other packaging solutions. One of the major advantages is that they are very affordable. The bags are made from a tough material made from polyethylene. This material is in most instances toughened to withstand high temperatures such as that of boiling water. The tough kraft plastic is also so tough such that mild pokes cannot penetrate and damage whatever contents are in the bag. The bag is strong enough to withstand forces that may cause the bag to tear. Packages will often be subjected to compression forces which may cause bursting; plastic mailing bags are resistant to these forces. Most of the bags are made seamless to make them even stronger.

Another big advantage of plastic mailing bags is that its plastic does not react with water and many other liquids. This means that the material will therefore not get damaged if exposed to the liquids as most other materials will, e.g. paper. This is a great advantage given the extreme environments that the mailing packages are exposed to during transit. In the same vein, the tough plastic will not allow water or vapour to pass into or out of the bag. Therefore one will not lose packed liquid and in a case where one has contents sensitive to wetness, one can be assured that no wetness will seep in. These qualities make the mailing bags a favourite in storing and transporting foodstuffs such as fish. One can pack fish into these bags and ice cubes can be added to preserve the fish. No odour will seep from the bags as the bags are also air tight.

Different working environments call for different packaging solutions. This usually depends on the items or objects being packed, the quality of packaging that is desired, the class of packaging desired, and many other factors. For example, foodstuffs will need to be packed in packaging that is sanitized and in most cases packaging that is water proof and air tight. This is because foodstuffs will easily go bad if exposed and especially water and air will speed up the destruction. Valuable items are usually packed in packaging that is not easily broken and packaging that will not reveal the package contents. Office environments are places where a lot of paperwork is done. Memos, letters, briefs, reports, licences, and other documents will always be circulating. In such an environment one needs packaging suited for such documents; the C4 envelope is one of the best solutions for office use.

The C4 envelope has a design that is pretty much standard around the world. The design has a size of 12.8” by 9.0”. This is also the size of an A4 paper meaning that an A4 sheet can go into this envelope without any folding. The A4 is the most used size for a sheet of paper. Many documents are therefore in this size. Some documents are sensitive and folding them is not encouraged since folding creates a flaw on the sheet; this therefore makes the C4 envelope invaluable when it comes to packing or mailing such documents. One can also pack many sheets into this envelope and therefore brochures and catalogues can also go into the envelope. Due to this feature of accommodating several sheets, the C4 envelope can be used for storage packaging. In the office we at times want to put several related documents together. This helps us in sorting of documents and also makes it easier to find stuff in the office. The C4 envelope can be used as a very convenient solution.

The office will also need to mail out a lot of letters, bills, and other documents. This is usually done often and will need the management to find a suitable packaging option. The C4 envelope is a good choice since it is very cheap. Mailing costs are also at a minimum while using C4 envelopes since they are not bulky and are very light. These envelopes can also be reused severally depending on how much care they are given.

Spring has sprung and the warmer weather has started to arrive. The time for garden parties and celebrations is upon us and what better way to celebrate than some champagne. If money is not too much of a stumbling block and you can afford to look at champagne according to packaging then there are some beautiful examples out there for you to choose from.

Veuve Clicquot is a classic example of high quality (and high fashion) champagne. From it's prestigious yellow brand colour and typography, even a basic bottle looks spectacular. To keep up with the trends and the high demand for something different they have brought out a range of champagne cooling sleeves which can keep it cooler if you are in the garden and don't have ice, taking it to a friends or having a picnic. The sleeve gives Veuve a chance to shine with some beautiful design that would not have been possible on a glass bottle.. The lovely soft pink and purple birds have a very spring feel about it and on the whole looks wonderful.

This is another great example of Veuve Clicquot spring packaging. Rather than a sleeve this time they have created a cooling bad with drawn on characteristics in the classic yellow with a little pink mixed in.

This brand of champagne has spring packaging down to a 'T' and it is obvious why it is so popular with the worlds wealthy and elite

When it comes to packaging, bright colours are thought to stand out from the crowd and grab a potential customers attention.  That idea is in some cases quite effective however with so many brands hitting the distinctive colour mark it's difficult to stand out from the sea of colour and pattern we see on our shelves. When a brand gets it right however it really shows, a classic example would be the icon Cadburys purple which is a global leader in the world of chocolate packaging design.

Belvoir Fruit Farms range of cordials and pressés have got their colours spot on. Not only does their labeling have a vivid range of colours which all somehow seem to match as a range, the clear glass bottles also allow the product colour to stand out and contribute to the bright feeling from the packaging. It is not only the colour of their packaging that Belvoir have got right however, the glass bottle style is quite traditional reflecting the high quality product and the typography is spot on giving it a handmade feel.
Ritter Sport Chocolate Bars have also hit the nail on the head, the German brand has become increasingly popular in today's snack market, one of their biggest selling points is that they have at least one of each flavour in a pack meaning that a customer can not only try all of the flavours but also the clear outer cellophane shows the full range of colour and patten inside.

Plastic mailing bags are essential in any business. This is even more true if you are engaged in the packing industry. Basically, it would be almost impossible to make money if you do not have a reliable supply of these packing materials.

Why is this so? Basically, packing materials, especially these plastic flexible containers, are very necessary in order to transfer goods from one location to another. Indeed, the plastic bag is able to accommodate several types of goods which are lightweight. Of course, they are not only important in the field of packaging. In other words, they are not only useful for people engaged in the packaging industry. If you have a department store, or even a small store, you would need a bunch of these bags in order to make sure that your customers can go home with something to put their bought materials into. You need to have plenty of these packing materials. Not only that, you also need to have multiple supplies of these bags in multiple sizes.

This is the very reason why you need to have a good and reliable supplier or provider of the plastic packing material. Some would say that looking for the most reliable provider is easier said than done. Well, to some extent, it is really difficult to find a good provider. However, if you have the right skills, you will be able to find a good provider with relative ease. Here are some techniques on how you will be able to find these suppliers:

·       The very first thing that you need to consider is the fact that there is one thing that can find the answers for your desire to find the best suppliers: the internet. Indeed, the internet is the single most important place to look for the best and the most reliable supplier of the plastic packing materials.

·       Of course, you will be able dozens of manufacturers. Not all of them are reliable. Many simply sugarcoat their products so that you would think they are the best. How, then will you know that they are able to keep true to their words?

·       Basically, all you need to do is go to the testimonials section of the website. Here, you will be able to read some of the comments of past clients about the products that the company is selling. However, it is also smart to look for companies with forums’ section. This section allows for negative comments to be posted. This only means that the company is confident about the quality of their plastic mailing bags and about their services.

It has to be said that even so early in the year 2013 has already been a fantastic year for student designs. Some of the most recent examples really show promise for the future of the face of packaging design as a whole. Here are some of the best around at the moment with links to some of the students portfolios.

This student design has a fun element to it which freshens up the very on trend package surround the macaron. These brightly coloured treat need very little in the way of decoration, hence why the packaging has some more subdued colours.

This cheese packaging is very interesting and really reinforced the origins of the food substance. Cheese packaging is usually uninteresting however it seems to be stude

The bubble wrap is one of the most important packing materials ever developed. These wraps are actually made in order to ensure that the contents of our packaging materials are safe. Of course, the bubble wraps are, by themselves, packing materials. The wrapping bubbles are actually used alongside other packing materials in order to maximize protection. If you are going to package sensitive or fragile materials, it is very foolish indeed to do so without using wrapping bubbles.

Specifically, the wrapping bubbles have a variety of uses. Here are the most common application of this popular packing materials:

·       The wrapping bubbles are known as such because they look like bubbles. Indeed, technically, they are. The wrap is actually made up of thin yet strong transparent plastic sheets that have been attached to each other with air bubbles which serve as cushion. Basically, it is this bubble that gives the protection to your goods, and it is this bubbles which make the wrapping bubbles important.

As such, if you are sending computer chips and other sensitive electronic items, it is wise to wrap them first in wrapping bubbles in order to protect them against bumps. It is important to remember that microchips react negatively to bumps that there is a great danger that they will malfunction if they are not protected from these bumps.

·       Microchips are not the only ones which will benefit from the wrapping bubbles. As a matter of fact, any fragile material that will be shipped or mailed will enjoy the relative protection given by the wraps. China wares, for instance, are precious materials which are very delicate. They are precious only when they arrive in perfect shape; they become useless if they suffer even the most minute of scratches. What can protect them from scratches? Wrapping bubbles can guarantee this protection.

·       Of course, the more sensitive your materials are, the more wraps must be used. The weight is also significant in the amount of wrapping bubbles that you are going to use. The heavier your material is, the more bubble wraps is necessary. Indeed, a wrapping bubble of several layers can even protect a man from certain death in a collision.

·       Finally, bubble wrap is not only useful for packaging purposes. As a matter of fact, the wraps are even more popular as a means of enjoyment. Even as children, we have always enjoyed popping the bubbles in our wraps. This activity has never failed to make us enjoy even the simplest things.
