If you’re joining the growing number of entrepreneurs on eBay, you might want to stock up on bubble envelopes, packaging tape and stamps. Ebay is the easiest way to start up your own business. Simple set up an account and begin selling all your old bits and bobs or your own innovative designs.

One thing you will need when bids begin to start coming in, is cardboard boxes. Depending on what you’re selling, you need to buy suitable packaging in order to post and deliver your products safely and securely to your customers.

Cardboard boxes need reinforcement using masking or duck tape in order to ensure your processions will arrive unharmed and intact. The verity of shapes and sizes that boxes come in make stacking and moving them difficult and tricky.

You have to make sure the boxes you use will hold the weight of your items; otherwise they will crush and break under pressure, with your irreplaceable items inside.

Don’t be tricked into buying weak moving boxes from retailers, they may be cheap but they are only designed for light objects.

Size isn’t everything Do not be tempted to reuse boxes as they lose strength with every use.Remember boxes aren’t water or weather proof. Any amount of water can ruin a box.

As I mentioned before, boxes are not the most practical and easy things to use.

Unfortunately stamps are becoming very costly, so it is important to always cover your post and packaging cost either in the p&p section or within the starting bid.

General items can be sent in padded envelopes which are a quick and cost effective way of shipping these items which are available in various sizes from postcard size up to C3 (A3 paper fits inside) You can use labels to tell the delivery man how to handle the box. For instance handle with care. Also remember clearly mark where its going and put on your own address and contact number in case there's a problem.

It is important to pack your items securely and well to maintain a professional aspect if you want to grow your business.  Bubble wrap is an ideal material to use when selling delicate items especially glass. If your product arrives damaged due to sending the item through the post, sadly it is your fault and you will be forced to cover the cost. Therefore investing in some rolls of bubble wrap or bubble envelopes will give you peace of mind that your items will be safely delivered.
